Esophageal Cancer
Esophageal cancer hereditary
I first heard of esophageal cancer when my mother was diagnosed with this. We knew nothing of this cancer except that it was too late to do anything when it was discovered. She slowly starved to death. Then a few years later I got a phone call from my Aunt asking me about my mother's symptoms. Sadly, my Uncle (mother's brother) had them too. I knew this would be bad news. My mother had been a regular smoker and had even beat lung cancer. Her diet had not been the healthiest either. My uncle was completely the opposite. He never drank or smoked, played golf regularly and ate healthy. He was a retired doctor, lived in southern sunny USA. This leads me to believe that hereditary factors play a big part in this cancer.

Being monitored with Barrett's

My brother died from esophageal cancer.  It was horrible to watch and I still miss him.  Both me and my dad have Barrett’s.  We are both on proton pump inhibitors.  It’s good to know that I am being monitored but I’m afraid that what happened to my brother will happen to me too.
