A Look Inside

Screening and Other Strategies to Detect and Prevent Digestive Disease

Despite the availability of safe and reliable tests, the proportion of Canadians being screened for colorectal cancer is unacceptably low. The results are lives lost and rising healthcare costs.

Canada needs a proactive screening initiative to detect colorectal cancer in its early stages when treatment is most effective. In many cases, screening allows physicians to detect polyps which can actually prevent cancer.

This proactive program supports CDHF's goal of reducing the incidence of digestive disease by promoting and preserving digestive health.
