Making Digestive Health A National Priority – Canadian Digestive Health Summit

The Canadian Digestive Health Foundation recently completed an exhaustive investigation that is summarized in the National Digestive Disorders Prevalence & Impact Study Report.  This report clearly documents the increasing number of people affected by digestive disorders, escalating costs, inadequate health care resources and reduced quality of life issues.  The report is being presented on Wednesday, November 4th, 2009 at a press conference being held at Sunnybrook Estates. Following the press conference, a series of key stakeholder groups including government, professional associations and other not for profits will gather to being discussions that we hope will result in the establishment of a non-partisan coalition that will work together to create a Canadian Digestive Health Strategy and Action Plan.

RISE 2009 – Conquer the Great Divide – A National Success!

The first national fundraiser for the Canadian Digestive Health Foundation was successful in every way. Our team of 32 enjoyed a lifetime adventure when they took part in four extreme winter events – dog sledding, cross country skiing, mountain climbing and snow shoeing – and raised over $226,000 for the Foundation. These funds are allowing us to transform digestive health in Canada through exciting, informative and innovative awareness, education and research programs. Our sincere thanks go out to every sponsor and participant of the 2009 RISE – Conquer the Great Divide.
